Educational institutes and student can use Tengu to quickly deploy big data environments and experiment faster. The Tengu core remains open-source technology and will be free for non-commercial applications in the future.

While most data science platforms tend to limit the number of compatible tools, the imec spin-off and imec.istart company Qrama will continue with the future development of Tengu: a generic, open-source data science hub that offers professionals complete freedom to choose the tools that best suit each of their data science projects.

Qrama is also working on a commercial PaaS version which will be easier to use and have lots of additional features to make the life of the data science teams easier and more efficient. The Tengu commercial version is available to corporate data science teams and commercial partners or potential resellers. More information can be found on their website and their blog
